You control and update your own website via an administrative login where you can update or add products, make them inactive (so they don't appear on the website), put them on sale or have new products "featured". You can make entire product categories inactive for seasonal goods or services. You can place products in multiple product categories so they appear in multiple places (like T-shirts that simultaneously appear in a "Humorous" category and a "Childrens" category).

Don't think you can do it yourself? Can you fill out a form? Can you take pictures with a digital camera? If you can say yes to these two questions, you're most of the way there.

If you're both a wholesaler and retailer, you can set up accounts for your wholesale customers where they have a pre-defined list of favorites to make product ordering easier and they see the wholesale price of the goods. Your retail customers see all the same products but with the retail or sale price.
